It was a great privilege to be a part of the dedication of the "Art Dorrington Ice Rink" at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. Sean McKoy, creator of the series UNSKRPTD, and the production crew of Reel Mckoy Media/Mirror Twiin Media was able to get some inspiring footage from NHL alumnus Willie O'Ree and former Eastern Hockey League Atlantic City Seagull Art Dorrington. The two men spoke of how they struggled in the 1950's, but kept moving forward with their dreams; to become part of the NHL. Both achieved this goal, and are now giving back to our youth with needed positive reinforcement. After the dedication, Art and Willie took some time out to speak with some of young players before they played a game on the newly dedicated ice rink. Former Fox 29 sports newscaster Don Tollefson, was also on hand to give a short, but powerful interview.
I would also like to recognize the hospitality given to us by Elizabeth Marmo and Valarie McGonigal of the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Every member of their crew were courteous and helpful in assisting us to bring our equipment in and get set up quickly. Thank you for the VIP treatment!
I also want to thank Sean McKoy for reaching out to me to capture some "behind the scenes" images for his new segment on the series UNSKRPTD that will showcase trendsetters and organizations that are empowering our young generation.
